Brand Identity + Front End Development
The Tribal Community Coordinating Center (TCCC) is a partner in fighting commercial tobacco in California tribal communities. TCCC hosts materials, trainings, and resources for tribal partners to help keep tobacco sacred.
An Identity That Tells A Story
TCCC's identity had to capture all the various tribes and tribal communities that are still present today in California. The mark pulls from the 4 different geographic locations of California: costal, desert, forest, and rural. The center diamond shape represents TCCC connecting them all.
Passing Along Historical Data
Keeping traditions is a huge part of tribal communities. When I create the data and resources, I try to maintain that respect and history for tribes to from that connection and be able to share this information with future generations.
Respecting Sacred Tobacco
The TCCC identity has reached across multiple trainings and events that I have develop sub-brands and materials for. I worked directly with Tribal Members to create the branding for the Tribal Projects Meeting. As well as creating a poster to be sent to tribal health clinics and our other tribal partners for participating and submitting abstracts. I illustrated tobacco plants that were native to the regions in which the funded tribes were located and used a dot plot to show how common each plant was.
Cultural Humility in Digital Spaces
I was also the lead for designing and helping with the front end development of the TCCC website. I wanted to keep the respect and cultural humility across the website and make it a valuable resource for tribes.
